This critically-acclaimed documentary focuses on the lives of women in treatment for eating disorders at a South Florida clinic. Lauren Greenfield, a feminist-minded photographer and filmmaker, directs with tremendous compassion. Thin follows women of all ages who are coping with the mental and physical consequences of recovery over a 6-month time period. Greenfield is careful to neither exploit, nor down-play their plights and thus, Thin is one of the most gripping documentaries out there. These women are at war with the industry but more importantly, themselves. This is truly moving stuff for men and women alike – * * * *
